it's been a long time since i've visited this site, and re-read Cat's blog about her kids. she's the reason i came here at all. i'd like to begin posting my poems about my son, in hopes to share his and my world with others. he is 9 years old now, and doing quite well. although autism seems hand out different challenges as he gets older, like any child i suppose. however, other challenges, like communication barries and self regulation, have eased.

It is interesting how I found this place. I don't find I get much use out of blogs and personal internet "spaces", but for some reason, I am going to try this. A woman on Vox found a poem of mine, written about my autistic son, she posted it on her blog and I was amazed when I found it there (thanks to some friends who googled my poetry username). For that reason alone, (and after reading her touching life stories), I have been inspired to write some of my own stuff here.
I don't really mind either way whether or not it is read by anyone, but I'm writing this here now, in case anyone does.
